Scientists in Woods Hole have conducted bottom trawl surveys for cod and other groundfish every year since 1963.

The longest-running standardized fish survey in the world, the bottom trawl survey now involves sampling at 350 stations, two or three times a year.

The cod shown here were photographed on Georges Bank in the early 1960s.
